Manifesto of the Newtype

The key to newtype is not whether you know how to use AI, but whether you have a sense of personal sovereignty.

We are standing at a critical point.

Many people think AI is just a tool for efficiency. Like PowerPoint, Excel, or Google, it helps people do old work a little faster.

That is the oldtype understanding.

Oldtype does not mean not knowing how to use AI. A lot of oldtype people use AI every day. They use AI to write weekly reports, make PPTs, revise resumes, land sponsored deals, and chase trends.

It looks advanced, but their underlying logic has not changed at all: they are still spinning inside the old system.

Oldtype still believes that life needs to be confirmed by some external system: a company gives you a title, a platform gives you traffic, a client gives you orders, society gives you identity.

They are holding new means of production in their hands, yet in their minds the landlords of the old world still live on.

Newtype is not such a person.

Newtype is someone who realizes the environment has already switched, and begins rebuilding themselves.

AI is not an upgrade to a tool, but a shift in the environment for survival. It completely changes the relationship between the individual and the world.

In the past, for an ordinary person to create value, they had to attach themselves to an organization.

You needed a company to give you a desk, a boss to assign tasks, a platform to distribute traffic, capital to provide machines, and customers to believe you could deliver.

Today, these assumptions are starting to loosen.

Code can let machines work for you.

Content can keep trust growing even when you are not present.

AI can amplify your judgment, taste, knowledge, and experience into a team.

Memory systems can let your collaborative experience settle down and become a portable personal asset.

This means that for the first time, ordinary people can grasp part of the means of production without permission.

But opportunity does not automatically bring freedom. The people who get AI may not become newtype.

A lot of people will only hand AI over to the old system. For example, using AI to work faster, using AI to please platforms faster, using AI to produce garbage content faster, using AI to exhaust themselves faster.

They are not being liberated by AI; they are being accelerated into depletion by AI.

The key to newtype is not whether you know how to use AI, but whether you have a sense of personal sovereignty.

Personal sovereignty is not just a pretty phrase. It means:

Your judgment does not depend on a single narrative.

Your survival does not depend on a single employer.

Your influence does not depend on a single platform.

Your assets do not depend on a single region.

Your identity does not depend on external certification.

Your production system does not depend on any center that may change the rules at any time.

This is not about making you quit your job immediately, not about making you anti-social, and not about fantasizing that you can completely detach from the world.

True personal sovereignty is not rejecting all dependence, but avoiding fatal dependence.

You can use a company, but do not hand yourself over to the company.

You can use a platform, but do not sink your roots into the platform.

You can use tools, but do not let the tools define the boundaries of your ability.

You can cooperate with systems, but do not become expendable material for the system.

The direction of newtype can be compressed into ten characters:

Think clearly, build it, live for yourself.

Think clearly means having your own judgment system.

Build it means having your own means of production.

Live for yourself means having your own choice.

These three are all indispensable.

If you only think clearly but do not build it, you are a dreamer.

If you only build it but do not live for yourself, you are a high-level tool person.

If you only shout about living for yourself, but do not have a judgment system or means of production, that is a fantasy of freedom.

Newtype is not an identity label, but a system for continuously generating yourself.

You must constantly reload your inputs and update your interpretive framework.

You must constantly produce work so that real-world feedback calibrates your cognition.

You must constantly build systems so that one-off effort becomes compounding assets.

You must constantly identify the traces left by the old system in your mind, especially those default assumptions like “someone must hire me,” “someone must give me answers,” and “someone must approve me.”

This path will not suit everyone.

Newtype is not for people driven by fear and greed, not for people looking for standard answers, not for people chasing trends.

Newtype is for those who have already dimly sensed that something is off.

They know the old road no longer works.

They are not satisfied with just learning a few tools.

They want to know, in the AI era, how a person should actually live.

They want to transform themselves from someone defined by others into someone who can define the question.

They want to withdraw part of their life from the old system and rebuild their own means of production, works, relationships, and life system.

If you are such a person too, welcome to newtype.

This is not a training class, a tool group, or a get-rich project team.

This is a group of people adapting to a new universe together.

We do not promise to make you rich.

We only care about one thing:

Can you, in the AI era, become the sovereign of your own life again?
